Purpose / Role
o To support the Principal and Senior Piping Engineers in delivering the Piping Engineering Design meeting Client criteria for Technical Design Quality and Technical Safety
o Specialising in pipe stress analysis and advising design team on arrangement and support requirement to work within code stress requirements.
Key aims and objectives
o To complete requirements for Corporate membership of Chartered Institution
o To continue developing experience, expertise and confidence in technical areas with context of company’s administrative and technical procedures
o To prepare, develop and maintain the full range of Piping Engineering Design deliverables to a high standard using Corporate Procedures / Software where applicable, Industry Codes and best practice. To achieve this on schedule and within budget.
Prime responsibilities and duties
o Preparation of Piping design deliverables, including studies, detail design deliverables and close out, as directed by the Principal and Senior Piping Engineers
o Participation in project design and safety reviews
Allied occasional duties
o Represent the Company at external functions, roll-outs and communication sessions such as graduate recruitment events.
Key internal interfaces
o CAD Draughtsmen / Designers
o Procurement
o All other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design quality, budget and schedule is met
o Ensure safety in design and construction by participation in Hazids, Hazops, TRA etc
Key external interfaces
o Liaise directly with customer single point of contact (SPOC) / Piping engineer on Piping aspects of the unit of work
o Liaise with other offices for engineering support
o Liaise with sub-contractors and vendors
Core competencies
o Computer literate.
o Sound knowledge of relevant industry Codes and Standards
o Good Technical Report writing skills
o Good communication skills
o Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
o Able to focus attention on delivering quality Design Deliverables on schedule and within budget
