Our client is a major operating company within the oil and gas industry and are currently looking for a Scaffolding Superevisor to work in Shetland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Supervise the project Construction Contractor with regard to Scaffolding erection and inspection activities in order to ascertain that the Construction Contractor has established, maintained and operates a Scaffolding erection and inspection Control System to ensure the provision of an adequate and timely supply of material and equipment to meet Construction Schedule needs.
Ensure the Construction Contractor is maintaining Scaffolding erection and inspection schedules in liaison with the Planning Engineer to ensure coordination between the project plan and expected delivery dates of materials and equipment.
Provide advice to the Construction Site Representative of actions required to maintain the flow of Scaffolding materials to the site and to other warehouses consistent with project requirements for Construction.
Demonstrate personal commitment to the HSE Policy, Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and company HSE standards, actively participate in company safety awareness and initiative schemes.
Activities.
Assist the Construction Site Representative to ensure Compliance with project Safety objectives throughout the life of the project.
Ensure that in addition to quality and good engineering practice, planning and cost must be a permanent concern.
Maintain good relationships with Contractors, being flexible enough but also strict when necessary to achieve the objectives of the Project.
Liaise with Other Technical Disciplines, Safety, Cost, Planning and Administration sections to improve effectiveness of the overall Team.
Keep the Construction Site Representative informed of all events which may affect the successful completion of the project goals.
Discipline Specific.
Act as Company site representative for Scaffolding activities and undertake regular scaffolding safety and integrity inspections.
Support the Construction Site Representative on site ensuring that the Construction Contractor is fully conversant with all Company project Scaffolding Inspection related standards and procedures.
Verify in conjunction with the Construction Site Representative, that where required by design and fabrication Codes that Scaffolding procedures have been qualified and approved, and that Scaffolding operatives have valid certification and that adequate Scaffolding records are being maintained.
Monitor and ensure that a comprehensive record of documentation and certification of Scaffolding Inspection work is maintained, and assist in the satisfactory ’handover’ of completed package from Construction Contractor to company.
Ensure the Construction Contractor provision of Scaffolding material receipts, handling, inventory control and distribution at site and maintain an auditable record of all material related transactions.
Ensure that all deliveries are inspected on arrival and that the quantities and quality are as specified before the invoice or delivery note is approved. Ensure that Over Shortages & Damage (OS&D) reports are rendered as necessary.
Ensure the Construction Contractor carries out inspections of incoming Scaffolding materials to make sure they meet the quantity and material specifications of goods ordered and checks all items received, ensuring conformity to purchase orders.
Ensure that Construction Contractor receipt of all Scaffolding material and equipment is stored safely and is protected, where necessary, from climatic conditions. In particular, ensure that any specific storage instructions are implemented. Liaise with the Construction Site Representative to determine the best storage position for difficult or bulky items.
Undertake regular Audits of Construction Contractor Scaffolding activities to ensure that a high standard of Material Inspection/ Control is being maintained.
Supervise the following Site Scaffolding interfaces and ensure that Company / Project standards and procedures are fully aligned:
Company & Construction Contractor
Construction Contractor / Sub-contractors
Scaffolding Specialists / Vendor representatives & construction site personnel
Support the Construction Site Representative and Discipline Superintendents on all aspects of Scaffolding erection and inspection activities and ensure that interfaces with other disciplines are managed effectively.
Rotation 3/3 schedule
Qualifications and Experience required
Relevant project construction experience
Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline
Significant experience at Scaffolding Supervisor level with particular emphasis on QC//Certification.
A good knowledge of Scaffolding Processes and Procedures, and ideally be qualified to CITB / CISRS Advanced Scaffolder with Registered Card Number.
CITB Advanced Scaffold Inspection Safety Certificate. Scaffolding Experience
Extensive Knowledge in Designing of Conventional and System Scaffolds to BS 5973 / EN 12811-1 Standard,
Extensive Knowledge in Training to BS 5973 / En 12811-1 Standard,
Good spoken and written English
Valid Medical Certificate which complies with Company Standards
