To manage all aspects of Planning, Cost Management, Procurement, Document Control and Risk Management including techniques, systems, staff, training and development, in order to provide the company with an efficient and professional project services capability.


This role demands the leadership ability to cascade vision, objectives, and goals within the Project Services function including supplying support, mentoring and development of Project Services staff.



Provide clear definition of the objectives of Project Services within the company and in the interfaces with clients.

Ensure that Project Services techniques and practices within the company are compatible with specific types of contract work - in particular the differing demands of separate business streams - and that staff are trained adequately in these differences.

To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents in relation to the the Project Services function.

Develop and implement Project Services techniques which address the above objectives and provide the correct tools for project execution

Ensure that all techniques are supported by adequate computerised systems which are designed and applied in an efficient and user-friendly fashion.

Ensure that all job requirements, techniques and systems are properly documented in terms of Job Descriptions, Departmental Procedures and User Manuals.

Ensure efficient interfaces with Planning, Cost Estimating, Cost Control and Document Control functions and maintain good communications with these related Departments.

Carry out regular reviews of Project Services practices/quality on all projects to ensure that objectives are being met.

Assign qualified, experienced and competent staff to Projects by managing the specification, recruitment, training and development of Project Services personnel.

Carry out periodic appraisals of staff performance and discuss/agree individual development plans in order to provide and safeguard the future company Project Services staffing needs.

Endeavor to achieve a sensible and practical balance of permanent and agency staff levels compatible with the above requirements.

Contribute as necessary to Corporate development in order to enhance the overall performance of the Company.

Contribute as necessary to general Project Services objectives and co-operate as required with the other Project Services disciplines.
